I was one of those little girls that all I could think about was horses. I dreamt, drew

and even pranced (yes, I said pranced) around my yard wishing and hoping that

some day... I could be a horse. I got my first horse when I was three years old. Her

name was Lady, she was a three year old sorrel Morgan cross. You know that old

saying... green on green equals black and blue? Well, I think whoever came up with

that was watching Lady and I out in the pasture. We had some rough patches

under saddle, but the thing that I remember the most about her was that she was my

best friend. She taught me a lot and she was always there to lend ear. She would run

away with me to my favorite tree in the pasture to help me work through my childhood

woes. She would meet me out by the bus stop and run along the fence with me back

to the barn. Many days we would play tag till we ran out of daylight. Needless to

say... my childhood would not have been the same without her.

Lady is one of my reasons why I enjoy equine photography / design so much. I want a

memento to remember the special times we had together. I know there are many others that feel the same about their equine companion as I do. Nothing gives me more joy than to capture those special moments between a horse and owner, so we can hold onto them forever.

Hello and thanks for stopping by!

What can I write about myself and also hold your attention? Two challenges

right off  the bat! That’s okay, because I love challenges! If you have ever read

another photographer’s bio, they may say "I have been taking pictures since I

was three years old. That simply is not the case with myself. When I think

back to my childhood growing up in Kansas, I could not wait to get my hands

on the next National Geographic or Life magazine that came in the mail.

I would never actually read it; I only wanted to look at the amazing photographs.

As a child, I had a love and passion for viewing images, but the thought of

actually being behind the camera never really came to mind. Plus the fact

if I even had a camera back then, I probably took it apart to see how it worked!

There recently came a time in my life that I realized photography is what I want to do. After a few years of studying and taking my new found hobby serious, it was time to find my niche. I never knew exactly what I wanted to specialize in. I have taken hundreds of photographs of landscape, wildlife, family and the list goes on. It is all very satisfying, but in the back of mind I wanted more, I just did not know what it was. That was until my good friend and now business partner Ginger introduced me to rodeo and equine events.  It is the most challenging, most exciting photography that I ever experienced. I thought “this is what I truly want to do”. I have been hooked ever since. With both of us being horse lovers and Ginger owning three horses of her own, it only seemed natural to bring our passions together and create B&B Photography and do what we truly love to do.
